The following are some of my more unusual and interesting experiences:
Leaving Home at 17
Due to irreconcilable differences with my stepfather and stepbrother, I chose to leave home at age 17 in the middle of my junior year in high school. I moved into a single room at a boarding house on the southern slopes of Mount Saint Helens. I had my own car and supported myself by working for my landlord, mowing lawns at his trailer park and running a rock crushing machine at his gravel business. I had to be responsible for earning a living, going to school, doing my homework, and getting good grades so that I could go to college.
